Ever been grocery shopping and just felt completely overwhelmed? What's actually a healthy option? What should you buy…especially if the fridge is empty? We would like to help ease your next grocery trip with these 4 tips.
- Make a list. Before you even hit the store, think about what you're going to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner throughout the week and compose a list that mirrors those items.
- Eat something before you get to the store, or bring yourself a healthy snack to munch on while you're shopping.
- Stick to the outside of store, the perimeters. All of the "junk" in the grocery store is located in the center of the store. The healthy food, our meats, dairy, vegetables and fruits, are on the perimeters.
- Read your ingredient lists. If you aren't sure if something you are considering buying is healthy, turn it over and read the ingredients on the label. If you are buying an item, such as greek yogurt, and you see the many names of sugar listed, maybe look for a different brand.
Good Luck!
