FOOD FOR YOUR TRAINER + BUSY NEW MOM
April 21, 2018, by Rebecca Jackson
As much as I wish exercise alone would help us get the body we want, the majority of body change comes from the food that goes into it. Eating good food everyday and finding time to make sure you are is so important to taking care of yourself. Good food gives us the fuel we need to get through our day…and that's the way I try to look at food…as fuel.

Today, I worked in the morning, came home to a messy house at 12pm, started to feed my daughter before her 1pm nap, and realized there was nothing pre-cooked in the house… here's what I ate, and intend on eating for the rest of the day…

6am
32oz water

7am
Matcha Powder + 8 oz water + 4oz unsweetened almond milk
3/4 cup 2% plain greek yogurt
1/4 cup frozen berries
1/8 cup almonds
1/4 cup oatmeal (raw)

7:30-10:45am
32oz

10:45am
1/4 cup trail mix

12:40pm
sweet potato
left-over cooked vegetable (today was Brussel sprouts!)
few handfuls of spinach (eaten just like that…as handfuls…not enough time for a salad today)

12pm-2pm
32oz

2pm
Apple
2 tbsp peanut butter
75 calories worth of dark chocolate
raw large carrot
raw broccoli (4 pieces)

2pm-6:30pm
1 pregnant mimosa (I got addicted during pregnancy to these…)
2oz pineapple juice, 16oz sparkling water
16 oz still water

5pm
Nothing in the kitchen pre-cooked….
1 can of tuna
1/2 tbsp mayo
2oz goat cheese
1oz cold cut (turkey)
1oz rice crackers

7pm
frozen dark cherries (about 6-7)
1 tbsp whipped cream

I look forward to those cherries all day….
It's all about making healthy choices, and hopefully having time to meal prep. At the end of the week (for me!), I didn't have much left as far as my meal prep went, however, I still looked to feed my body with fuel.

Happy eating and good luck!
Rebecca
